Tips for Preparing Spicy Roasted Pumpkin Seeds:

  • Selecting the Right Pumpkin Seeds: Choose pumpkin seeds that are plump and have a light beige color. Avoid seeds that are discolored or have a wrinkled appearance.
  • Cleaning the Pumpkin Seeds: Thoroughly clean the pumpkin seeds to remove any remaining pumpkin flesh or pulp. Rinse them under cold water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  • Seasoning the Pumpkin Seeds: Use a combination of spices and herbs to create a flavorful coating for the pumpkin seeds. Common spices include chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and paprika. You can also add herbs such as thyme, oregano, or rosemary for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Roasting the Pumpkin Seeds: Preheat your oven to the desired temperature according to the recipe you are following. Spread the seasoned pumpkin seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast them until they are golden brown and slightly puffed up. Keep a close eye on the seeds during roasting to prevent burning.
  • Storing the Pumpkin Seeds: Once the roasted pumpkin seeds have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh for up to a week.
