Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 10

450g lean beef steak
1 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine or dry Sherry
2 tsp cornflour
3 tbsp groundnut oil
1 red pepper, cut into chunky dice
1 green pepper, cut into chunky dice
3 tbsp oyster sauce
2 spring onions, finely shredded, to garnish

Tips:

  • Use fresh fish: The fresher the fish, the better the dish will taste. If you can't get fresh fish, frozen fish will also work, but make sure to thaw it completely before cooking.
  • Choose the right type of fish: Some fish are better suited for stir-frying than others. Firm-fleshed fish like cod, halibut, and salmon are all good choices.
  • Cut the fish into uniform pieces: This will help them cook evenly.
  • Marinate the fish: Marinating the fish in a mixture of soy sauce, rice wine, and ginger will help to flavor it and make it more tender.
  • Use a hot wok: A hot wok will help to create a nice sear on the fish and prevent it from sticking.
  • Stir-fry the fish quickly: Don't overcook the fish, or it will become tough and dry. Just cook it until it is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Add the sauce: Once the fish is cooked, add the oyster sauce and stir-fry for a few minutes more, until the sauce has thickened and coated the fish.
  • Serve immediately: Stir-fried fish with oyster sauce is best served immediately, with rice or noodles.

Conclusion:

Stir-fried fish with oyster sauce is a quick and easy dish that is packed with flavor. It is a great way to use up leftover fish, and it is also a healthy and affordable meal. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious stir-fried fish with oyster sauce that your family and friends will love.
