You can even mix it in the baking pan for easy cleanup. This is sensational when served with soups or just as a snack, but don't expect it to be around very long when your family gets a taste of it! 3 cups flour (sifted)
3 teaspoons baking powder (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1 teaspoon salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1/4 cup sugar
1 (12 ounce) can beer
1/2 cup melted butter (1/4 cup will do just fine)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Mix dry ingredients and beer.
  • Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  • Pour melted butter over mixture.
  • Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.
  • UPDATED NOTES: This recipe makes a very hearty bread with a crunchy, buttery crust. If you prefer a softer crust (like a traditional bread) mix the butter into the batter instead of pouring it over the top.

That compacts the flour and will turn your bread into a "hard biscuit" as some have described. That's because they aren't sifting their flour! 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
4 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons salt
⅓ cup packed brown sugar
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt and brown sugar. Pour in beer, stir until a stiff batter is formed. It may be necessary to mix dough with your hands. Scrape dough into prepared loaf pan.

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons sea salt
2 tablespoons raw sugar
1/3 cup olive oil or 1/3 cup canola oil
1 (355 ml) bottle brown beer
2 tablespoons oatmeal or 2 tablespoons dried onion, to sprinkle
2 teaspoons melted margarine

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
