Tips:

  • Use a good quality steak for the best results. A well-marbled steak will produce a richer and more flavorful gravy.
  • Season the steak liberally with salt and pepper before cooking. This will help to enhance the flavor of the meat and the gravy.
  • Cook the steak over medium-high heat until it reaches your desired doneness. For a medium-rare steak, cook for about 3-4 minutes per side. For a medium steak, cook for about 4-5 minutes per side. For a well-done steak, cook for about 6-7 minutes per side.
  • Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • To make the gravy, use the pan drippings from the steak. Add some diced onions and garlic to the pan and cook until softened. Then add some flour and whisk to combine. Gradually add milk or beef broth, whisking constantly until the gravy reaches your desired consistency.
  • Season the gravy to taste with salt, pepper, and any other desired herbs or spices.
  • Serve the gravy over the sliced steak and enjoy!

Conclusion:

Sylvia's easy steak gravy is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a rich and flavorful gravy that will elevate your steak to the next level.
