TANGY CHICKEN FAJITAS

Tangy Chicken Fajitas image

These are something my family used to make at least once a week. It cracks me up that we use Italian dressing as a marinade in this Mexican recipe. The result is a fajita with a kick. This is also good as a filling for quesadillas.

Time 40m

Yield 4-5 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 -4 skinless chicken, boneless chicken breasts
cayenne pepper, to taste
Italian dressing, enough to cover chicken
2 bell peppers
1 red onion
oil
6 -8 tortillas
shredded cheese
sour cream

Steps:

  • Slice and marinate the chicken and vegetables in the Italian dressing 20-30 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Saute the mixture in the oil until chicken is done and onions are tender.
  • Add cayenne pepper to taste.
  • Build fajitas on tortillas with cheese and sour cream.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken. Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs are the best choices for fajitas. They cook quickly and evenly, and they're easy to slice into thin strips.
  • Slice the chicken against the grain. This will help the chicken cook more evenly and tender.
  • Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes. This will help the chicken absorb the flavors of the marinade and make it more tender.
  • Cook the chicken over high heat. This will help the chicken brown quickly and evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you overcrowd the pan, the chicken will steam instead of brown.
  • Cook the chicken until it is cooked through. The chicken is cooked through when it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Serve the chicken fajitas immediately. Chicken fajitas are best served hot, with your favorite toppings.

Conclusion:

Chicken fajitas are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. With a little planning, you can have a delicious and healthy chicken fajita meal on the table in no time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give chicken fajitas a try!
