1 package dry onion soup mix
Several dashes hot sauce

Elaine's Sweet and Tangy Loose Beef BBQ image

This recipe is a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants creation. I researched several BBQ recipes online and in my cookbooks and combined bits and pieces of different things I liked about them. The result was a wonderful and tangy loose BBQ for sandwiches that is very easy to make and takes little hands-on time. My in-laws who are in their 70s both said it was the best BBQ they had ever had. It was awesome!

TANGY BEEF BRISKET

Tangy Beef Brisket image

This sauce is great over venison, barbequed hamburgers and hot dogs. Cooked in the oven the beef brisket becomes juicy and tender. The secret's in the sauce. The sweetness of brown sugar and bite of horseradish enhance the flavour of the beef. This is great for birthdays, holidays, potlucks, dinner parties and camping trips. Make it ahead of time and freeze it. All you have to do is reheat for a main course that looks as good as it tastes.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef brisket: Look for a brisket that is well-marbled with fat, as this will help to keep the meat moist and flavorful during cooking.
  • Trim the brisket: Remove any excess fat from the brisket before cooking. This will help to prevent the meat from becoming greasy.
  • Season the brisket generously: Rub the brisket with a flavorful spice rub before cooking. This will help to enhance the flavor of the meat.
  • Cook the brisket low and slow: Brisket is a tough cut of meat, so it needs to be cooked slowly and at a low temperature in order to become tender. The ideal cooking temperature for brisket is between 225 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Baste the brisket regularly: Basting the brisket with its own juices or a flavorful liquid will help to keep the meat moist and prevent it from drying out.
  • Let the brisket rest before slicing: Once the brisket is cooked, let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it more tender and flavorful.

Conclusion:

Tangy tender beef brisket is a delicious and flavorful dish that is perfect for any special occasion. By following these tips, you can ensure that your brisket turns out perfectly every time. So next time you're looking for a special dish to serve your friends and family, give tangy tender beef brisket a try. You won't be disappointed!
