1 orange, thinly sliced with peel
1/2 onion, thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic, halved and smashed
2 1/4 pounds skirt steak
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 cup light-colored beer (preferably lager)
1/2 cup soy sauce

Steps:

  • In a wide shallow glass baking dish, scatter half of the orange slices, half of the onion slices and half of the garlic pieces. Sprinkle the steak all over with salt and pepper and put in the dish on top of the orange and onion slices. Scatter the remaining orange, onion and garlic over the steak and pour in the beer and soy sauce. Cover with plastic wrap and let marinate for 1 hour at room temperature or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat a grill to medium high. Remove the steak from the marinade; discard the marinade. Grill the steak to desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium rare. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

2 (16 ounce) beef sirloin steaks
¼ cup dark beer
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
½ teaspoon seasoned salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Preheat grill for high heat.
  • Use a fork to poke holes all over the surface of the steaks, and place steaks in a large baking dish. In a bowl, mix together beer, teriyaki sauce, and brown sugar. 1 -2 onion, sliced into rings
1 piece eye steak fillet, about 1 inch thick
1 tablespoon sake
2 tablespoons mirin
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
salt
2 tablespoons oil, divided
steamed rice, to serve

Steps:

  • Lightly salt the steak and set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Fry the onions in 1 tablespoon of the oil in frying pan; remove and set aside, keeping warm.
  • Add rest of the oil to pan and heat. Pat the meat dry with paper towels and add to pan. Cook til medium rare, about 2 minutes each side; there should be pink in the middle.
  • Remove from pan and set aside, keeping warm.
  • Reduce heat to low, add sake to pan and let bubble for 30 seconds, then add mirin, sugar and soy. Stir well and simmer for about a minute.

1 1/2 lbs skirt steaks, marinated in your favorite teriyaki sauce for at least 2 hours
12 ounces broccoli rabe, ends removed, chopped into one inch bites
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (15 ounce) can straw mushrooms, drained
4 ounces sliced water chestnuts
4 ounces bamboo shoots, canned
5 baby carrots
15 -20 snow peas, fresh
3 tablespoons peanut oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
6 ounces stir-fry sauce (I like House of Tsang's Classic Stir Fry Sauce)
1/8 cup almonds, slivered, toasted

1 beef flank steak (1-1/2 to 2 pounds)
1/2 cup plus 1/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce, divided
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons butter, divided
3 large eggs, beaten
2 cups cold cooked rice
1 package (9 ounces) frozen peas and pearl onions

  • Place steak in a shallow dish. In a small bowl, whisk 1/2 cup soy sauce, vinegar, honey, ginger and garlic. Pour half of the marinade over steak; turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
