Teriyaki Pork Roast (Crock-Pot) image

Grand Prize winner in a Simple & Delicious contest for crock-pot recipes. . .not my recipe unfortunately, but I had to post it here for safe keeping. They recommend serving it sliced with a side of hot mashed potatoes however I think it's much better atop fluffy white rice!!! This is a fabulous recipe and your end product won't have that "crock pot" flavor!!

1/4 cup green onion, chopped
1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Chuck roast or rump roast are good options for pot roast, as they are both flavorful and affordable cuts of meat.
  • Brown the beef before braising: Browning the beef adds flavor and color to the pot roast. Be sure to sear the meat in a hot skillet until it is browned on all sides.
  • Use a good quality teriyaki sauce: The teriyaki sauce is the key ingredient in this recipe, so be sure to use a good quality sauce that you enjoy the taste of.
  • Add vegetables to the pot roast: Vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, and onions are all good additions to pot roast. They add flavor and nutrition to the dish.
  • Cook the pot roast low and slow: Pot roast is a dish that benefits from being cooked low and slow. This allows the meat to become tender and the flavors to meld together.

Conclusion:

Teriyaki pot roast is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The beef is tender and flavorful, and the teriyaki sauce is rich and savory. Serve pot roast with rice or noodles, and enjoy!
