TEX-MEX PINTO BEANS
This is my take on pinto beans served at a popular Tex-Mex restaurant in Dallas, and they are an inexpensive dish to serve guests at a dinner party. You can soak the beans overnight before cooking them, or try the quick method listed in the instructions.

Tips:
- To save time, soak the beans overnight or use canned pinto beans.
- You can use a slow cooker to cook the beans. Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours.
- If you don't have a slow cooker, you can cook the beans in a pot on the stovetop. Bring the beans and water to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1-2 hours, or until the beans are tender.
- Once the beans are cooked, mash them slightly with a potato masher or fork.
- Add your favorite Tex-Mex seasonings to taste. Some common seasonings include chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Serve the beans with your favorite toppings, such as cheese, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and chopped cilantro.
