BEST GARLIC DIP
I have adapted this from a recipe I found on the German cooking website chefkoch.de and changed it to my liking. I first made this for a New Year's Eve party and eventhough it makes quite a large amount, there was none left at the end. If you can't find Quark, you can substitute with either low-fat sour cream or natural yoghurt or a mix of the two. Have a look in you frozen food department of the grocery store for the frozen herbs, they come in small flat cartons in the UK and Germany. The paprika mentioned is the sweet mild kind, not very hot.

Steps:
- Mix all ingredients in a medium sized bowl.
- You might want to add salt and pepper, but usually it doesn't need it.
- Can be eaten straight away, but the flavours develop much better if you cover and chill it overnight.
- Enjoy with crackers, crusty bread or with grilled meats.
Tips:
- Fresh garlic is key: Use fresh garlic cloves for the best flavor. Avoid using pre-minced or jarred garlic, as it will not have the same intensity of flavor.
- Roast the garlic: Roasting the garlic mellows its flavor and makes it sweeter. You can roast garlic in the oven or in a toaster oven.
- Use a variety of herbs and spices: Don't be afraid to experiment with different herbs and spices to create your own unique flavor profile. Some popular additions include parsley, chives, thyme, rosemary, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Use a good quality olive oil: The olive oil you use will make a big difference in the flavor of the dip. Choose a good quality extra virgin olive oil that has a fruity flavor.
- Let the dip chill: After you make the dip, let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and develop.
Conclusion:
Garlic dip is a versatile and delicious appetizer or snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its creamy texture, garlicky flavor, and variety of potential flavor combinations, it's sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, reach for the garlic and get creative!
