Easy Pina Colada French Toast image

With just a few ingredients and little effort, this recipe makes a great summer breakfast. I created it while on holidays in Maui while making french toast for breakfast. I noticed the drink mix sitting on the counter from the night before and inspiration struck. Top with sliced bananas and maple syrup.

1 1/2 ounces coconut rum (Malibu)

1 cup ice cubes
2 oz (4 tablespoons) coconut rum
2 oz (4 tablespoons) pineapple juice
1 oz (2 tablespoons) fat-free half-and-half

Steps:

  • Place ice in blender. Pour remaining ingredients over ice. Cover; blend until smooth.
  • Pour into glass; serve immediately.

Nutrition Facts : ServingSize 1 Serving

Tips:

  • Use fresh pineapple juice. Fresh pineapple juice is the key ingredient in a great piña colada, so don't skimp on it. Fresh juice has a much better flavor than canned or bottled juice. If you don't have fresh pineapple, you can use frozen pineapple that has been thawed and strained.
  • Chill your ingredients. All of the ingredients in a piña colada should be chilled before you make the drink. This will help to create a refreshing and flavorful cocktail.
  • Use a blender. A blender is the best way to make a piña colada. It will help to create a smooth and creamy consistency.
  • Garnish your piña colada. A garnish can add a touch of elegance and flavor to your piña colada. Some popular garnishes include pineapple wedges, maraschino cherries, and whipped cream.

Conclusion:

The piña colada is a classic tropical cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. So next time you are looking for a refreshing and flavorful drink, give the piña colada a try.
