Turkish cuisine is a diverse and flavorful blend of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian influences, and its salads are no exception. Turkish salads are often vibrant and colorful, relying on fresh, seasonal ingredients. They typically feature a mix of vegetables, herbs, and spices, and often include a dressing made with olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. A few common types of Turkish salads include Çoban Salatası (Shepherd's Salad), which is made with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and parsley; Cacık (Cucumber-Yogurt Salad), which is a cooling and refreshing dip or salad made with yogurt, cucumbers, garlic, and dill; and Semizotu Salatası (Purslane Salad), which is a tangy and slightly bitter salad made with purslane, tomatoes, onions, and lemon juice.
