Tips:

  • Choose the right tuna: Use solid white albacore tuna for the best results. It has a mild flavor and firm texture that holds up well in the casserole.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: Don't be afraid to experiment with different vegetables in your tuna hotdish. Some good options include carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, and corn. You can also add frozen vegetables, such as peas or corn.
  • Season your casserole: Don't forget to season your tuna hotdish with salt, pepper, and other spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the dish.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use can make a big difference in the flavor of your tuna hotdish. Use a cheese that melts well, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or Parmesan.
  • Don't overcook the casserole: Tuna hotdish is best when it is cooked until the tuna is just cooked through. Overcooking will make the tuna tough and dry.
