Found this recipe in our local paper one summer. Have made in many times with rave reviews from family and friends. Great for hot weather as no cooking required!

8 ounces cream cheese, at room temp
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
10 Hostess Twinkies, halved lengthwise
21 ounces cherry pie filling
15 ounces crushed pineapple with juice (drained)
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
8 ounces Cool Whip Topping (thawed)

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk and beat with electric mixer on med. speed till smooth. Arrange the twinkies cut side up into a 13x9 in baking dish. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the Twinkies. Spoon the pie filling over the cream cheese mixture. Spoon the pineapple over the pie filling. Reserve 2 tablespoons nuts for garnish. Sprinkle remaining nuts over the pineapple. Spread Cool Whip over the pineapple and garnish with the 2 tablespoons reserved nuts. Cover and chill 4-6 hrs or overnight. Cut into squares and serve. 9 Hostess Twinkies
3 large eggs, seperated
1 pinch cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 ounces chocolate chips, semisweet
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Steps:

  • Grease pyrex square or rectangular casserole with butter.
  • Cut 8 Twinkies in thirds lengthwise, and put one layer on the bottom of the casserole. Beat egg whites, with the cream of tartar and sugar, adding vanilla.
  • Melt chocolate chips in the top of a doubleboiler.
  • Add egg yolks to chocolate, slowly, continuing to stir overboiling water.
  • Fold chocolate into egg whites.
  • Spread over Twinkies, then sprinkle with about half of the nuts.
  • Layer on more twinkies, more chocolate, more nuts.
  • Continue layering.
  • Top with whipped cream and a single whole Twinkie. Chill and serve.

10 Hostess Twinkies
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon vinegar
9 inches deep dish pie shells
whipped cream (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Unwrap all the twinkles.
  • Cut each one in half lengthwise and then cut horizontally in 3 to make each twinkie 6 pieces.
  • In a large bowl whisk the eggs, butter, sugar, vanilla and vinegar until well combined.

3 eggs, beaten
1/4 c sugar
1 stick butter, melted
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 Tbsp white vinegar
