TYROSALATA - SPICY FETA DIP

Tyrosalata - Spicy Feta Dip image

This goes great on pitas or Lavash, chicken or fresh vegetables. Yum! I was trying to find a substitute for Trader Joe's Spicy Feta Dip because my family will no longer buy it because it contains canola oil. This is not as thick and clumpy due to the fact I put it in the blender. I'll try to give the closest measurements I can because I made it by just throwing things into the blender.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality feta cheese. This is the key ingredient in tyrosalata, so it's important to use a good one. Look for a feta that is creamy and flavorful, with a slightly tangy taste.
  • Don't over-process the dip. Tyrosalata should be creamy and smooth, but not too thick. If you over-process it, it will become grainy.
  • Add the spices and herbs to taste. The amount of chili flakes, oregano, and garlic that you add will depend on your personal preferences. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Serve tyrosalata with your favorite accompaniments. Some popular options include pita bread, crackers, and vegetables. You can also use it as a spread for sandwiches or wraps.
  • Tyrosalata can be made ahead of time. This makes it a great dish to prepare for parties or potlucks. Simply make the dip according to the recipe and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Tyrosalata is a delicious and versatile dip that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own personal preferences. So next time you're looking for a tasty appetizer or snack, give tyrosalata a try.
