2 tablespoons Hunt's® Tomato Paste
1-1/2 cups instant white rice, uncooked
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef, onion, bell pepper, garlic and salt; cook 7 minutes or until beef is no longer pink and vegetableas are tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, rice and water; stir to combine. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes or until rice is tender.
  • Remove from heat; stir. Sprinkle with cheese; let stand 2 minutes or until cheese melts.

1 (4 ounce) can mushroom pieces, drained

Steps:

The following is what I came up with and is not only delicious but effortless.

1 large onion, coarsely chopped
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes (I prefer the brand that uses plum tomatoes)
2 large green bell peppers, corded, seeded and coarsely chopped (or 3 to 4 medium)
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
garlic powder, to taste
dried Italian seasoning, to taste
cooked rice
parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Brown ground meat and onion.

1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup long-grain rice
One 15-ounce can crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup toasted pine nuts, for serving (see Cook's Note)
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for serving
Yogurt, for serving, optional

Steps:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef, garlic, green peppers and onions and cook, stirring, until the beef is browned, 7 to 10 minutes. 1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 orange bell pepper, chopped
