CRANBERRY VODKA SLUSH

Cranberry Vodka Slush image

A quick, easy drink to make. This recipe makes quite a bit and it can be kept in the freezer for months, as long as it's in a tightly sealed container. I've made this for holidays, family get-togethers, baby showers (non-alcoholic for the mom-to-be of course), bridal showers/bachelorette parties and other events. * "50/50"...

Provided by S I

Categories     Cocktails

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 oz box cherry jello
1 c boiling water
3 c cold water
2 c cranberry juice
12 oz frozen orange juice concentrate, slightly thawed
12 oz frozen lemonade, slightly thawed
2 c vodka
50/50 or squirt soda (citrus flavored sodas)

Steps:

  • 1. In a large container, dissolve the Jello in boiling water. Add the remaining ingredients, EXCEPT the soda; stir until well blended. Cover the container tightly, place in the freezer for at least 7 hours (overnight works best though) or until its completely "slushy."*
  • 2. When ready to serve, spoon the slush into a glass and add 50/50 or Squirt soda.
  • 3. * If you make non-alcoholic version, stir every few hours so it doesn't completely freeze solid (alcoholic version won't freeze solid with the vodka in it).

FROZEN VODKA SLUSH

This is so yummy.... I love frozen drinks. Use whatever pop is your favorite ( I use diet to cut down on the sweetness) I also put the juice & zest of a lemon, lime & orange if you have it.... Just brightens up the flavor. Also the maraschino cherries are optional, my mother in law makes brandy slushes and puts them in hers...

4 1/2 c water
maraschino cherries & juice as desired(optional)
7 up/sprite/sierra mist/sprite pop (i use diet)

Tips and Conclusion

Tips:

  • Choose ripe and juicy fruits: This will ensure a flavorful and refreshing slush.
  • Freeze the fruit before using: This will help the slush freeze more quickly and smoothly without icy chunks.
  • Use a blender that can handle frozen ingredients: A high-powered blender will be able to crush the frozen fruit and ice more easily.
  • Add vodka to taste: Start with a small amount and add more to taste. If you want to avoid alcohol, you can use water or fruit juice instead.
  • Garnish with fresh fruit, herbs, or a drizzle of honey: This will add a touch of flavor and visual appeal.
