1 pound whole wheat linguine
⅓ cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced, or more to taste
2 shallots, chopped
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
½ cup walnuts, chopped
½ pound cooked ham, thinly sliced
⅓ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pkg (16 oz) linguine
2-4 clove garlic
1/4 c oil
1/2 c coarsely chopped walnuts
1/2 lb fully cooked ham slices, cut into 1/2 inch strips
1/3 c grated parmesan cheese
1/4 c minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • 1. Cook linguine according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute garlic in oil for 1 minute. Add walnuts; saute for 2 minutes longer. Stir in ham, cook 2 minutes or until heated through. Drain pasta. Add to ham mixture; toss to coat. Sprinkle with Parmesan and parsley

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will make a big difference in the flavor of your dish. Choose walnuts that are plump and have a light, nutty flavor, and use a good quality ham that is not too salty.
  • Toast the walnuts: Toasting the walnuts will bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant. You can toast them in a dry skillet over medium heat for a few minutes, or in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes.
  • Don't overcook the pasta: Pasta should be cooked al dente, which means it should be tender but still have a slight bite to it. Overcooked pasta will be mushy and bland.
  • Use a flavorful sauce: The sauce is what will really bring your dish together. Use a sauce that is rich and flavorful, and that complements the flavors of the walnuts and ham. A simple white sauce made with butter, garlic, and Parmesan cheese is a good option, or you could try a creamy pesto sauce.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs: Fresh herbs will add a pop of color and flavor to your dish. Try garnishing with chopped parsley, basil, or chives.

Conclusion:

This walnut ham linguine is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It is packed with flavor and texture, and it is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you are looking for a new pasta dish to try, give this walnut ham linguine a try. You won't be disappointed.
