MUSHROOM OLIVE BRUSCHETTA

Mushroom Olive Bruschetta image

After experimenting with different ingredients and flavor combinations, I came up with this variation on traditional tomato-based bruschetta. I've also used this recipe as a stuffing for chicken breast, and sometimes will add a little feta cheese. You can make it ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator, but be sure to bring it to room temperature before serving-that's how it tastes best! -Colleen Blasetti, Palm Coast, Florida

Tips:

  • Choose the right bread: A good bruschetta starts with a sturdy bread that can hold up to the toppings. Ciabatta, baguette, and sourdough are all good choices.
  • Slice the bread properly: Cut the bread into 1-inch thick slices on a diagonal. This will give you a larger surface area for the toppings.
  • Toast the bread: Toasting the bread will help it to become crispy and flavorful. You can toast the bread in the oven, on a grill, or in a toaster.
  • Use fresh ingredients: The best bruschetta is made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. This includes ripe tomatoes, basil, garlic, and olive oil.
  • Don't overload the bruschetta: A few simple toppings are all you need to make a delicious bruschetta. Don't overload the bread with toppings, or it will become soggy.

Conclusion:

Bruschetta is a simple but delicious appetizer or snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It's a great way to use up leftover bread and fresh vegetables, and it's also a very affordable dish to make. If you're looking for a quick and easy recipe that's sure to impress your guests, bruschetta is a great option.
