Time 1h5m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (6 ounce) can tuna, drained
1 cup macaroni, raw
1 onion, chopped
1 (14 ounce) can peas, drained
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can 98% fat-free cream of mushroom soup
1 cup skim milk
6 tablespoons low-fat cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Spray 8x8 pan with non stick spray.
  • In a bowl, mix tuna, noodles, onion, peas, soup and milk.
  • Pour into pan. Make sure noodles are covered by sauce.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Cover & Bake for 1 hour.

Tips:

  • Use canned tuna. Canned tuna is a great, affordable, and convenient way to add protein to your casserole. It's also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health.
  • Use whole wheat noodles. Whole wheat noodles are a healthier option than white noodles. They're higher in fiber, which can help you feel full and satisfied after eating.
  • Add vegetables. Vegetables are a great way to add nutrients and flavor to your casserole. Try adding chopped carrots, celery, or onions.
  • Use low-fat cheese. Low-fat cheese is a healthier option than regular cheese. It's lower in calories and fat, but it still has a lot of flavor.
  • Use a light cream sauce. A light cream sauce is a healthier option than a heavy cream sauce. It's lower in calories and fat, but it still has a creamy texture.

Conclusion:

Tuna noodle casserole is a classic comfort food dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It's a great way to use up leftover tuna, and it's also a budget-friendly meal. There are many different variations of tuna noodle casserole, so you can customize it to your own taste.
