Yield 4 peopl

Number Of Ingredients 11

One 4 oz. package Farmhouse® Long Grain & Wild Rice Traditional Herbs & Seasonings
7 oz. canned or frozen crab meat, drained (canned) or thawed (frozen)
5 oz. frozen peas, cooked and cooled
1 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
4 lettuce leaves

Steps:

  • Prepare rice according to package directions. Let cool. Combine rice, crab meat, peas, celery, green onions, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard and salt and pepper. Chill 2 hours. Serve on leaf of lettuce.

Tips:

  • Cook the crab perfectly: Overcooked crab will be tough and chewy, so be careful not to overcook it. The best way to cook crab is to steam it until it is just cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per pound.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will make a big difference in the flavor of your salad. Use fresh, sweet crab, crisp vegetables, and a flavorful dressing.
  • Don't overdress the salad: A little dressing goes a long way, so be careful not to overdo it. You want the flavors of the crab and vegetables to shine through.
  • Serve the salad immediately: Crab salad is best served immediately after it is made. The longer it sits, the more the flavors will meld and the salad will become less crisp.

Conclusion:

Crab salad is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, main course, or side dish. It is a great way to use up leftover crab, and it is also a healthy and flavorful option for a summer meal. With its combination of sweet crab, crisp vegetables, and flavorful dressing, crab salad is sure to be a hit with everyone at your table.
