BLUE-FOOTED BOOBY

Blue-Footed Booby image

This sweet, creamy drink is named after the long-winged seabirds that breed off the Pacific coast of South America. I found the recipe on the cruisecritic.com website. It uses a sugarcane-based liqueur called Cana Manabita that is produced in Ecuador. If you cannot find Cana Manabita, Brazilian Cachaca is a nice substitute. Or, as a third option, you could use a good-quality rum (though it won't produce exactly the same taste as either of the South American liqueurs). The datbase doesn't recognize Cana Manabita, so I hope I don't confuse anyone by the way I had to list that ingredient.

This dish was a disappointment. The booby was tough and the sauce was bland. I wouldn't recommend this dish to anyone.

Not bad. The booby was a bit dry, but the sauce was really good. I'll try it again with a different cooking method.

Amazing! This is the best booby dish I've ever had. The meat was so tender and juicy, and the sauce was perfectly balanced. I highly recommend this dish.

This dish was a bit too adventurous for me. The booby was a bit too gamey and the sauce was a bit too spicy. I think I'll stick to more traditional dishes in the future.
