our Grocery store makes a version of this salad but they use the bagged precut broccoli so the gas they use to preserve the broccoli makes a sulfur smell so I decided to do it myself. You can use any nuts but cashews or sunflower seeds are my favorites I've found.

Steps:
- 1. Cook broccoli (if you are cooking it, just rinse and drain if you are using raw broccoli), run under cold water until completely cooled then place on paper towels to remove all excess water.
- 2. Cook bacon and set aside on paper towels to cool and drain.
- 3. Chop broccoli, red onion, water chestnuts and Bacon, add chopped items and the rest of the salad ingredients to a large bowl.
- 4. prepare dressing in a small bowl and toss with ingredients in the large bowl. (you can serve this right away but it is best after sitting for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld)
