These butter toffee cookies were a huge hit at our annual cookie swap. They were one of the first to disappear from the table. I'll definitely be making them again next year.

I decided to experiment and added a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg to the cookie dough. It gave the cookies a warm and cozy flavor, perfect for a chilly autumn day.

I made a few tweaks to lighten up the recipe, using whole wheat flour and reducing the amount of sugar. The cookies still came out delicious and satisfying, without compromising on taste.

I have to say, these butter toffee cookies exceeded my expectations. The texture was perfect - crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside - and the toffee bits added a delightful crunch. Well done!

I've tried my fair share of toffee cookies, but these ones are truly exceptional. The balance between the sweetness of the toffee and the richness of the cookie dough is spot-on. Highly recommend!
