BUTTERMILK OATMEAL BREAD image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 cup rolled oats
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 cup (packed) brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Mix oats with buttermilk. Let stand for 1/2 hour.
  • Stir oil, egg, and brown sugar into oat mixture. Stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt: mix into oat mixture.
  • Pour batter into a greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 55 to 60 minutes, or until done.
