Steps:
- preheat the oven to 350 and grease/flour tube pan. 6 apples-peel and slice thin-I use Granny Smith 5 tbl sugar 2 tsp cinn-combine sugar and cinn, coat apples combine: 1 C oil 2 C sugar 4 eggs 1/3 C orange juice combine and then add add to the sugar mixture: 3 C all purpose flour 3 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 2 1/2 tsp vanilla-stir in Layer the batter and apples in the prepared cake pan. I do a very small amount of batter first, then apples, batter, apples, batter. There will be some nice juice left in the apples/sugar/cinn bowl. I pour that over the last layer of batter. Bake about 1 1/2 hours. I test it with a very sharp thin knife, since a toothpick won't reach to the middle of the cake.
