Categories     Pork     Vegetable     Bake     Quick & Easy

Yield makes4-6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 pound ham cut into 1/2 inch cubes
1/2 ponnd russet potatoes, with their skin, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
1/2 pound fresh green beans cut into 1 inch pieces
3 tablespooons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 small onion, finely minced
4 ounces plus 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare potatoes and place in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam while preparing green beans. Add green beans to potatoes and steam about 5 minutes more. Just long enough that potatoes can be pierced easily with a fork. While veggies are steaming, prepare cheese sauce. Melt butter in a medium sauce pan. Add onion and saute over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, until translucent. Add flour, and stir until flour is incorporated. Cook 1-2 minutes to get rid of raw flour taste. Add milk and stir constantly until mixture has thickened--about 5 minutes. Add grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Pour sauce over ham mixture and top with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered until heated through, 10-15 minutes. Place under broiler for 3-4 minutes to brown cheese, if desired.

This was a great recipe! It was easy to make and it turned out delicious. The only thing I would change is to add some more vegetables. I think some chopped broccoli or cauliflower would be a great addition.

This was a really good dish. The potatoes and green beans were cooked perfectly and the ham was tender and flavorful. The cheese sauce was creamy and rich, and it really brought the dish together. I would definitely make this again.

This was a great recipe! It was easy to make and it turned out delicious. The only thing I would change is to use less cheese. I found that the amount of cheese in the recipe was a bit overwhelming.

This was a bit bland. I think it needed more seasoning. I added some garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika and it was much better.

This was okay, but not as good as I expected. The potatoes were a little dry and the ham was a bit tough. The cheese sauce was good, but it didn't really save the dish.

This was a great way to use up leftover ham. The potatoes and green beans were a nice addition, and the cheese sauce was the perfect finishing touch. I will definitely make this again.
