Chicken Ole' image

Found this in "Fix It and Forget It" Crock Pot cookbook. Simple...I love the crockpot.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 can(s) of cream of chicken soup
1 can(s) cream of cheddar soup
1 c sour cream
2 Tbsp chopped onion
1 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
12 tortillas, flour
3-4 c cubed cooked chicken
7 oz jar salsa (i used the salsa that has black beans & corn in it)
1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • 1. In separate bowl combine soups, sour cream, onion & 1 1/2 cup of cheese; mix well
  • 2. Place 1/3 of each of the following in layers in slow cooker: torn tortillas,soup mixture, chicken, cheese an ending with salsa. The top layer I put the rest of torn tortillas.
  • 3. Cover and cook on low for 3hrs. Last 10 minutes place 1 /2 cup of cheese and melt.
  • 4. This recipe does not do well on high. Serve with the toppings of your choice.

This was my first time making chicken ole, and it turned out great! The recipe was easy to follow, and the dish was ready in no time. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was flavorful. I'll definitely be making this again.
