Citrus Salt image

Infused with the essential oils of lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits, these finishing salts boast a bright flavor that elevates everything from dark chocolate to pastas, salads, and roasted vegetables.

Yield Makes 1 cup

Number Of Ingredients 2

1 cup flaky sea salt, such as Maldon
2 tablespoons freshly grated organic citrus zest, from well scrubbed grapefruits, oranges, lemons, or limes

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 200 degrees. In a bowl, mix salt and zest. Spread mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake until citrus is dry, about 1 hour. Let cool completely.
