Cornbread Topped Tamale Pie image

This is a quick, hearty comfort dish which is easy to make. It tastes like tamales, without the work! I am always asked for the recipe wherever I make it. You can make the meat mixture ahead of time, and just do the cornbread when you are ready to bake.

This recipe is a keeper! I've made it several times now and it's always a hit. The cornbread topping is crispy and the filling is moist and flavorful.

I'm not sure what went wrong with my tamale pie, but it didn't turn out well. The cornbread topping was too crumbly and the filling was too dry.

This recipe was a disaster! The cornbread topping didn't rise and the filling was watery. I don't recommend this recipe.

I thought this recipe was just okay. The cornbread topping was a bit dry and the filling was a bit bland.

This recipe was a bit too spicy for my taste, but I think that's just because I used a hot pepper jack cheese. Next time I'll use a milder cheese.

So yummy and easy to make! I used a gluten-free cornbread mix and it turned out great. The leftovers were just as good the next day.

This recipe was easy to follow and the pie turned out great! I used a store-bought rotisserie chicken to save time, and it worked perfectly. My family loved this dish and I will definitely be making it again.
