Country Gentlemen Casserole image

I found this in a magazine one day and have been making it ever since. Everyone loves it and it's so easy. Hope you enjoy it to.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 c chopped celery
1 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp chopped onion
1 1/2 c cooked rice
2 c cooked cubed chicken
1 can(s) cream of chicken soup ( i have also used cr. mushroom soup)
3/4 c mayonnaise
1 can(s) drained sliced water chestnuts
1/2 c almonds, slivered
1 c cheese shredded ( add a little more because we like it cheesy)
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 c corn flakes ( i have also used bread crumbs)

Steps:

  • 1. Cook celery and onions in butter till tender.Add the next 7 ingredients. Place in a 9x13 casserole dish. Crush the corn flakes and mix with the butter and add to top of casserole. Bake 350 degrees for 40 min
