Exchanging postcards is another one of my hobbies. This recipe is from one of my postcards. I wanted to have the recipe--and try it--before I sent the card. The back of the card says the recipe is from JoAnne Bottoms of Eureka, Texas.

These cookies are a bit too dry for my liking. I think I'll try adding some more butter next time.

I had some trouble getting the cookies to spread out in the oven. I think I might have needed to grease the baking sheet more.

These cookies are a little too sweet for my taste. I might try reducing the amount of sugar next time.

I'm not a big fan of oats in cookies, but these cookies were surprisingly good. The oats add a nice texture and flavor.
