Creamy Green Bean Casserole image

I have not tried this recipe,but am going to.This, something like regular green bean casserole, but, has surprise ingredient that sound very delicious. I am already thinking of ways to tweak this more to my taste. Such as trying different cheeses, or combo of cheese, adding crispy bacon for more flavor, perhaps...

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 tbs butter, divided
2 tbs flour
1 tbs sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1 tbs chopped onion, or to taste
1 cup sour cream
2 1 lb. cans whole green beans, drained
1/2 lb shredded swiss cheese
1 cup crushed corn flakes

Steps:

  • 1. 1...preheat oven to 350. 2...melt 2 TBS of butter. 3...add flour, sugar, pepper, salt and onion. 4...stir in sour cream & heat thru,do not boil.
  • 2. 5...stir in green beans and the cheese, pour in greased casserole. 6...melt rest of butter and stir in corn flakes. 7...top casserole with corn flake mixture. 8...bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
