This is a very nice dessert to serve when entertaining. Delicious served over mangos sprinkled with rum, or strawberries with Grand Marnier® or Cointreau®.

6 egg yolks
6 tablespoons white sugar, divided
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ½ cups heavy cream

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • Beat egg yolks, 4 tablespoons white sugar and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until thick and creamy.

I thought this crème brûlée recipe was just okay. The custard was a bit grainy and the caramelized sugar topping was a bit too thick. I'll probably try a different recipe next time.

This crème brûlée recipe was a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I'll reduce the amount of sugar next time. Otherwise, the custard was smooth and creamy, and the caramelized sugar topping was perfect.

I was really excited to try this crème brûlée recipe, but I was disappointed with the results. The custard was too eggy and the caramelized sugar topping was too hard. I think I'll try a different recipe next time.
