Crispy Cheddar Crisps (Low Carb & Gluten Free) image

Having recently gone back on a modified Atkins eating plan, I found these Cheese Crisps on a website called nobunplease.com These are really easy and can be made with any cheese you wish. I do put parchment paper on my cookie sheet; it makes removal easy and no clean-up! Here is the original link, but I am posting his recipe...

4 Tbsp cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375.
  • 2. On a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat, drop a tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese (white or yellow, or any cheese, like monterey jack, pepper jack, swiss, havarti, etc) into four separate piles. Make sure they have at least 2 inches space between them.

These crisps are a bit too spicy for me, but I still enjoyed them. I think they would be perfect for people who like a little heat in their snacks.

I'm not a big fan of cheddar cheese, but I actually really liked these crisps. The cayenne pepper helps to balance out the sharpness of the cheese.

These crisps are a great way to use up leftover cheese. I always have a few bags of shredded cheddar in my fridge, so it's nice to have a recipe that uses them up.
