This Winter time fruit salad has been in our family a long, long time. It is served on every special occasion due to demand. This includes 04th of July and Easter, so it has become the year round favorite mixed fruit dish. It is so versatile, you can add most any fruit to it and it will still be delicious. There are two secrets...

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 large can fruit coctail, drained
1 large can cling peaches, drained and chopped in bite size pieces
1 large canned mandarin oranges, drained
1 large can crushed or tidbit or chunked pineapple, drained
1 jar(s) cordial cherries, drained
DUMP ALL ABOVE CANNED FRUIT IN COLLANDER AND PLACE IN LARGE BOWL. ADD THE FOLLOWING----
1 large container of frozen strawberries with its syrup juice
1/4 c dry sherry (you may add up to 1/3rd cup of sherry)

Steps:

  • 1. I also enjoy adding a cup of fresh blueberries to this fruit salad for added color because your strawberries tend to turn some of the fruit reddish in hue. So what? You will be praised for such a delicious fruit salad dish. (Although this is versatile in that you may add most any fruit to this dish, I do not recommend adding coconut. It's simply too chewy for this salad. Also, I have never tried adding pecans, but it may be ok. Cool Whip in the squirt can is beautiful atop this salad. You will not go wrong serving this dish at your next big family function. Enjoy!

I'm not usually a fan of fruit salad, but this one is an exception. The dressing is amazing and the combination of fruits is perfect. I've made this several times and it's always a hit. Highly recommend!

This is my go-to fruit salad recipe. It's always a crowd-pleaser and so easy to make. I love the bright and tangy flavor of the dressing. Sometimes I'll add some berries or melon for a twist.

I made this fruit salad for a party last weekend and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved the combination of fresh fruits and the honey-lime dressing. I also added some chopped nuts for extra crunch. Will definitely be making this again!
