Steps:
- 1. Sift dry ingredients together; set aside.
- 2. In mixer, beat together sugar and butter until creamy. Blend in buttermilk, egg and vanilla.
- 3. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- 4. Gently stir in peaches.
- 5. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13X9 inch pan .
- 6. In small bowl, combine nut topping ingredients and sprinkle over cake.
- 7. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes for 11X7 inch pan or 30-35 minutes for 13 X9 inch pan. Cool.
