Dr. Pepper BBQ Baked Beans image

Great for a side dish with BBQ ribs or even ham!

4 slice bacon ( i use turkey bacon)
1 medium vidalia or sweet onion, chopped
1 large green pepper, chopped
1/4 c brown sugar (or sugar twin if diabetic)
1/4 c kc masterpiece honey teriyaki bbq sauce
1 c dr. pepper soda
1 large can 16-20 oz. size bush's baked beans

Steps:

  • 1. Prheat oven to 375*; in a large skillet, on medium heat brown the bacon pieces, until bottom of pan is coated with bacon grease.
  • 2. Add the onion and pepper and saute until transparent, and pepper is soft. Add the brown sugar;and stir until sugar melts.
  • 3. Add the BBQ sauce; DR. Pepper and beans and stir all together well. Pour into a shallow baking pan and top with 2-3 more slices of uncooked bacon. Bake for 45-1 hour time or until bacon on top is browned and crisp! Enjoy!
