My mom always made this coffee cake as a special treat for us on Christmas morning. And my family loves the rich fudgy filling just as much as we did back then.

This cake is a bit too sweet for my taste. I would reduce the amount of sugar next time.

I'm not a big fan of coffee, but I really enjoyed this cake. The coffee flavor was subtle and it didn't overpower the chocolate.
