Steps:
- 1. In a large cast iron deep skillet, melt bacon drippings or butter
- 2. Layer prepared apples evenly over skillet bottom.
- 3. Sprinkle lemon juice over them, add brown sugar and salt.
- 4. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes until apples are tender.
- 5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- 6. Stir in spices and enjoy
- 7. Note: Crumble crisp bacon over apples as a garnish when serving.
