Gone to Heaven Cookies image

I found this recipe 20 years ago in my mom's recipe box. It was a very old newspaper clipping, but I don't recall her ever making them. I updated it a bit and baked a cookie that my friend named by saying, "Oh, I've died and gone to heaven!"

These cookies are a bit too sweet for my taste, but they're still really good. I think I'll try making them with half the amount of sugar next time.

I'm not a huge fan of coconut, but I loved these cookies. The coconut flavor is very subtle and it's perfectly complemented by the pecans and the frosting. I'll definitely be making these again.
