Time 1h40m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (8 ounce) bottle Russian salad dressing
1 (10 ounce) jar apricot preserves
1 (2 ounce) package onion soup mix
1 (3 lb) whole chickens, cut up
salt
fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine dressing, preserves, and onion mix in bowl; set aside.
  • Salt and pepper chicken.
  • Pour dressing mix in a 13 x 9 x - inch baking dish. Place chicken in single file so as they are not on top of each other, skin side down.
  • Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes, basting occasionally. Turn chicken over and bake for 35 minutes more, basting occasionally.
  • I like to serve this with wild rice, a nice salad, and fresh yeast rolls.

I tried this recipe last night and it was a disaster. The chicken was tough and the sauce was bland. I don't recommend it.

I'm not a fan of chicken, but I tried this recipe anyway and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was delicious.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my chicken didn't turn out as tender as I would have liked. Maybe I cooked it for too long?

The chicken was a little dry, but the sauce was delicious. I think I'll try it again with a different cut of chicken.
