Green Velvet Cake image

Saw this recipe and had to share it. Beautiful Green...I'm thinking... I'm sure someone would like to try this recipe for a special St. Patrick's Day dessert! 1 1/2 c canola oil
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp green food coloring
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 1/2 c sugar
1 c buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare (3)8-inch cake pans spraying them with Baker's Joy nonstick cooking spray or grease and dust with flour (3)8-inch cake pans. Set aside.
  • 2. Combine eggs, sugar, oil, and vinegar in a bowl; mix well.
  • 3. Sift flour and soda together and add to egg mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition. Blend in vanilla and food coloring.
  • 4. Pour cake badder evenly in 3 pans. Bake at 350˚ F for 25 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  • 5. Top with vanilla frosting.
