We love these. They are simple and can be made a day ahead, marinated overnight, and popped on the grill for a quick company meal.

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp ground cumin
2 tsp dried thyme, crumbled
2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp black pepper
16 lamb chops, 1 1/2-inches thick
2 c hot pepper jelly

Steps:

  • 1. In a small bowl stir together the chili powder, the cumin, the thyme, the sugar, the salt, the allspice, and the black pepper. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the chops, rub it evenly all over the meat, and chill the chops, covered, for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • 2. Prepare a grill with glowing coals or preheat the broiler. On the oiled rack of the grill or on a broiler pan in the broiler grill or broil the chops 4 inches from the heat for 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium-rare meat.
  • 3. Serve the chops with the pepper jelly.

I would love to try this recipe, but I'm allergic to chili peppers. Do you have any suggestions for a substitute?

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but my lamb chops turned out a little dry. I think I might have overcooked them.

These lamb chops were a bit expensive, but they were worth it. They were the best lamb chops I've ever had.

I served these lamb chops with a side of tzatziki sauce, and it was a perfect pairing. The sauce helped to balance out the spicy chili rub.

I marinated the lamb chops overnight in the chili rub, and it really helped to infuse the meat with flavor. The chops were very tender and flavorful.

I don't have a grill, so I cooked these lamb chops in a skillet on the stovetop. They turned out just as good as if I had grilled them. I would definitely recommend this recipe to anyone who doesn't have a grill.

I had some trouble finding chili powder, so I used a blend of paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper instead. The chops still turned out great! They were very flavorful and juicy.

These lamb chops were a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved them. He said they were the best lamb chops he's ever had. I would recommend using less chili powder if you don't like spicy food.

I'm not a big fan of lamb, but I decided to try this recipe anyway. I was pleasantly surprised! The chili rub really helped to improve the flavor of the lamb, and the chops were very tender. I would definitely make these again.

This lamb chop recipe is a keeper! The chili rub adds a delicious smoky flavor to the meat, and the chops are cooked to perfection. I served them with roasted vegetables and a side of mint sauce, and it was a hit with my family.
