Grilled Garlic Chicken Wings image

Grilled wings in a creamy garlic sauce make a tasty treat for your backyard barbeque. Don't be nervous about grilling with mayo if you've never done it before. It works great. These wings are a nice alternative to hot wings, although you can kick up the heat with a splash of hot sauce at the end. The recipe was inspired by my sister Sue who writes a "Wingscapade" blog from Jacksonville, FL.

Time 30m

Yield 24 wing pieces, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

12 large chicken wings
6 large garlic cloves, minced
1 lemon, juiced (about 1/4 cup)
1 cup mayonnaise
6 slices pickled jalapeno peppers, diced
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
hot sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • Wisk together the minced garlic, lemon juice, mayonaise, and diced jalapenos.
  • In a large bowl or freezer bag, dust the wings with the garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  • Mix wings with 3-4 spoonfuls of the garlic sauce. Marinade in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or more or get right to grilling.
  • Grill over medium heat, about 20 minutes or until the wings are thoroughly cooked. Turn frequently, basting liberally with the garlic sauce.
  • Splash with your favorite hot sauce at the end if you prefer your wings with a little more heat.

These wings are delicious, but they're a bit messy to eat. I suggest serving them with plenty of napkins.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my wings didn't turn out as crispy as I would have liked. I think I'll try cooking them at a higher temperature next time.

These wings were a little too spicy for me, but my husband loved them. He said they were the best wings he's ever had.

I'm not a big fan of garlic, but I really enjoyed these wings. The marinade was perfect and the wings were cooked to perfection.

I love how easy these wings are to make. I just throw them in the marinade and then pop them in the oven. They're always a hit with my family.

I've made these wings several times now and they're always a crowd-pleaser. They're crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the garlic butter sauce is to die for.

These wings were a hit at my last party! I marinated them for 24 hours and they were so flavorful. The garlic and herbs really came through.
