Time 10m

Yield about 30 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 tablespoons chopped, seeded fresh red chile (about 2 medium chiles)
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
18 ounces halloumi, sliced medium-thin (i.e. just under 1/4-inch)
1/4 lemon, juiced

Steps:

  • Mix the chopped chile and olive oil in a small bowl or cup and leave the flavors to deepen while you cook the cheese. I use a nonstick frying pan for this, without any oil, and just give the cheese slices about 2 minutes a side until they're golden brown in parts. When all the slices of halloumi are cooked, transfer them to a couple of small plates. Give the chile oil a stir, spoon it over the cheese, then give a spritz of lemon. That's all there is to it.

This dish is a great way to use up leftover chili. It's also a great way to get your kids to eat their vegetables.

This recipe is a waste of time and money. The ingredients are expensive and the results are not worth it.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my dish turned out nothing like the picture. The halloumi was burnt and the chili was watery.

This recipe was a total fail. The halloumi was rubbery and the chili was bland. I would not recommend this dish to anyone.

I thought the halloumi was a bit bland, but the chili was delicious. I would make this dish again, but I would use a different type of cheese.

5 stars! This recipe is a keeper. The halloumi was crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. The chili was flavorful and had just the right amount of heat. I will definitely be making this dish again and again.

Halloumi with chili is a great combination! The salty, tangy cheese pairs perfectly with the spicy, smoky chili. I made this dish last night and it was a hit with my family. We all loved the flavors and textures.
