Herbed Cheese Wafers image

These bite-sized snacks are rich, buttery and full of flavor. You can serve them alone or with a dip.-Mildred Sherrer, Fort Worth, Texas

Yield about 4-1/2 dozen.

Number Of Ingredients 7

3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
1 tablespoon minced fresh tarragon or 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 small garlic clove, minced
2 cups all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat butter, cheeses, tarragon, oregano and garlic until well mixed. Beat in flour (the dough will be crumbly). Shape into a 14-in. roll. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. , Cut into 1/4-in. slices; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° until golden brown and crisp, 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
