Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 cup(s) water
2 - cinnamon sticks
3 or 4 - whole cloves
3 - whole allspice or 1 1/2 tsp. ground
1 teaspoon(s) grated/ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • 1. Combine everything in a small crock-pot. Turn on high for an hour, then reduce heat to lowest setting and simmer uncovered for hours. You can add a bit more water as needed. (Do not drink)
  • 2. If you only have a very large crock-pot you can either double the recipe or the mixture can be simmered in a saucepan on the stove, but it will need to be watched more closely.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but my potpourri didn't smell very strong. I might try adding more ingredients next time.

I love the smell of this potpourri, but it didn't last as long as I hoped. I had to add more ingredients after a few hours.

This is a great recipe to use up leftover oranges and cranberries. I also added a few cinnamon sticks and cloves, and it smelled divine.
