Hornet's Nest Cake image

I have been making these for so many years and have forgotten where the original recipe came from. My Dad loved this cake its rich, butterscotchy, and all it needs is a dollop of whipped cream. The name? The cake does resemble a honeycomb kinda hornet's nest when the butterscotch pieces melt a little

This cake was a bit too dense for my taste, but it was still very good. The cake was flavorful and the frosting was rich and creamy. I would recommend using a lighter cake mix if you don't like your cakes too dense.

This cake was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was still very good. The cake was moist and the frosting was creamy. I would recommend using a semisweet chocolate instead of a bittersweet chocolate if you don't like your desserts too sweet.
