Hot Chocolate - South American Style image

This is a traditional South American chocolate drink, but to market it well I made it hot chocolate, even though in the old days, South Americans didn't drink it hot. The recipe uses chili powder, and I used red bell pepper to match the sweetness of the chocolate. This is a good way to bring an old recipe into today.

I'm definitely going to make this hot chocolate again. It's so easy to make, and it's so much better than anything you can buy in a store.

I'm not a big fan of hot chocolate, but this recipe is actually pretty good. It's not too sweet, and the spices give it a nice flavor.

This hot chocolate is a bit too spicy for my taste. I think I'll try it again with less cayenne pepper.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my hot chocolate turned out really bitter. I think I might have added too much cayenne pepper.

I was a bit hesitant to try this recipe because I'm not a big fan of spicy food. But I'm so glad I did! The cayenne pepper is very subtle, and it actually adds a really nice flavor to the hot chocolate.

I've never had hot chocolate like this before. It's so different from the sugary, milky stuff I'm used to. This is rich, dark, and complex, with a hint of spice. I really enjoyed it!
